Abstract
Design of an IoT remote controlled bait boat The reason behind of the topic choice is coming from my fishing experiences and beside that there is also a growing demand from my family and friend’s side. In my opinion this bait boat project is very complex and requires knowledge of diverse areas. It based on engineering, fishing, modelling, programming and electronics skills as well. Furthermore, it provides me a brief insight into the Arduino and IoT world. In this project I created my own 3D CAD jet-powered bait boat model with LED lightings, hook and bait release mechanisms. Beside the theoretical way I implemented the applied solutions in a prototype. The control of my bait boat is based on an ESP32 microcontroller module with integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. I built up the control environment in the Blynk IoT mobile application via the drag and drop editor under iOS platform. The program code was developed by me in Arduino IDE software. In the future I would like to rebuild the prototype with new bait boat hull, that is vacuum formed by me. Furthermore, I would like to develop the mechanisms with 3D printed parts, designed by me. A webserver-based control environment is also planned by me in the near future. To sum up, despite of the short time I am glad that I could get a better overview about the Arduino, ESP „world” and Blynk IoT app by now. These tools gave me a good basic and they will help me in the future to build up my home automatization in a much easier way as well.
