Abstract
In my dissertation I present the mechanical design of a passenger elevator, where I deal separately with the components to be installed, the government decrees, directives and standards currently in force. I describe the initial state. I take the data of the existing elevator and then measure the shaft with laser scanning as opposed to traditional measurement methods. I assemble the point clouds extracted from the scanner and create a dimensionally accurate three-dimensional model of the existing shaft. After the measurements, I start the design by selecting the car sling, I compare the advantages and disadvantages of different designs. I choose an automatic car door according to the customer’s requests. I determine the material of the individual parts. I design the car into the ccar sling, I design the unique parts. I design these unique parts in accordance with the MSZ EN 81 standard. After designing the car, I select the counterweight to be used and its filling. I choose a guide rail and a rail grip for the moving parts in the elevator shaft. I design the guide rails according to Annex “C” of the standard MSZ EN 81-50, and I order the rail grips from the manufacturing company. I select the safety devices of the lift, such as the safety gear, elevator buffer and overspeed governors, from the specification published by the manufacturer, taking into account the physical characteristics of the elevator in question. I select the right drive for the elevator, which includes the drive motor, drive disc and rigging. I place the parts involved in the drive in the machine housing and design a machine base for them, then I test these units with the help of finite element analysis, and I also test the two support beams pre-installed in the machine housing. Finally, I describe the requirements for the design documentation of an elevator and its structure.
