Abstract

Continuous, lifelong learning is now essential. Is there learning without motivation? The motivation of the adult learner develops (affects) both internal and external factors. In this dissertation I undertook to explore the motivation of adult learning, including the learning motivations of primary school teachers. On the one hand, I was looking for the answer to the extent to which the pedagogical promotion system influences the motivational characteristics of teachers and learns more from external influences, and on the other hand, what aspects are more emphasized when choosing the type of training. The aim of the research was to understand what drives the educator to study further. The results of the research suggest that both external and internal motivations appear. Renewing professional knowledge, satisfying the desire for knowledge, meeting new people, building new professional relationships and achieving higher incomes are their most important motivations. Furthermore, the research also revealed that learning without motivation does not exist, that it is not at all true among respondents to claim that they only participate in training if they are required to do so. When choosing the type of training, the time schedule is an important consideration in relation to the content of the training.
