Abstract
In my thesis I present the results of my work carried out the Non-Destructive Laboratory and in the Hungarian Acoustic Industrial Diagnostic Laboratory of the University of Dunaújváros. During the ultrasound testing, I found a serious problem that needed to be solved. This problem was related tot he non-perpendicular angle of penetration of the sound beam. The solution was to design and build a leveling table, which is the main result in this dissertation. Then the task was to test and further develop itt o eliminate the minor bugs. The end result of the improvement is that a probe mechanism has been developed for the minimum range of movement, which can work well with the mechanics of the leveling table. Finally, ont he basis of previous similar devices developed in that laboratories, a completly new device was designed and built to facilitate further immersion ultrasound examinations. Summarizing what was described, I came tot he conclusion that it was worth while to design a new piece of equipment and both the leveling table and the probe mechanism proved to be useful in immersion ultrasound testing. Future plans include bringing the 2 controllers into a common software, if possible in a Labview environment. It is possible to replace the ultrasound device with a data processing device that can be built into a computer. In addition, it would be worth to minimize the size of the equipment to make it lighter and better looking.
