Abstract

The Hot Rolling Mill of ISD DUNAFERR ZRT. manufactures a wide range of steel products with hot rolling. This thesis deals with defects and rejects in the production of hot rolled steel coils. I have analyzed the production results for the years 2020 and 2021 and examined the amount of defective products, I have also examined the amount of rejects. Based on the statistical data, I have sketched the elements of the quantitative values of defective and scrap products using diagrams. I investigated the reasons for the defects of width. I have tried to identify the problems causing width size errors and their origin. I have suggested ways of correcting width faults. I have examined and analysed the technological failures of recent years. I also looked for the causes of the technological scrap and pointed out the errors in the process control system. A common and significant problem is the temperature of the rolled workpiece. I have tried to come up with solutions to reduce scrap. I have summarised all my proposals and solutions in the last chapter.
