Abstract
The Underfill machine, what we used in production was installed in the our SMT (surface mount technology) department due to customer needs. For some chip components, this is an expected process for long-term protection. The machine was installed from Nordson and Valeo's process engineers. This process took several weeks to create the new programs and fine-tune it, for the series production. After several months of series production, it became clear that the number of scraps dropped from production was too high, causing financial and time losses due to the remanufacturing of scrap pieces. At this point, a negotiation process has begun with the supplier regarding the development opportunities for the station. An agreement was reached to replace the resin nozzle. In consultation with the process engineer in charge of the station, i was able to participate in the development of the station, which seemed an interesting challenge. This was one of my first major assignments as a fresh maintenance engineer assistant. After all the parts for the development arrived, a service technician from the supplier gave us on-site training on the replacement process and the expected problems and solutions.
